Marion Concert Band

The next performance of the Marion Concert Band’s Friday evening series will feature soundtrack music from a variety of movies and TV shows, as well as pieces from movies that have a space theme.

The program will include highlights from the Jurassic Park soundtrack, E.T., Lost in Space, Star Trek and more.

The concert will be held on Friday, July 25 at the Robert Broomhead Bandstand at Island Wharf and will begin at 7 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public, and more information can be found at the Marion Town Band Facebook page.

Saturday, July 26

Marion Town Party

The annual Marion Town Party will begin at 4 p.m. at Silvershell Beach and will feature food and beverages for sale, music, dancing and kids’ activities. The event’s rain date is Sunday, July 27.

Lobster roll and bake sale

The First Congregational Church of Marion’s annual Summer Lobster Roll and Baking Sale is coming soon. This fundraising event takes place on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Penny Pinchers Exchange at 39 Main Street, Marion.

Mattapoisett Town Band 125th anniversary

The Mattapoisett Town Band will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Wednesday, July 30.

The band will receive recognition from Governor Maura Healey and Representative Mark Sylvia in honor of the anniversary. Additionally, the celebration which will feature some town band favorites and a John Philip Sousa march.

“We’ve ordered 125 cupcakes from Shipyard Galley so the band’s gonna have cupcakes. We’ll give all the kids cupcakes!” said Jayson Newell, Mattapoisett Town Band director.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Shipyard Park.
