Time change for Rochester Candidates Night

Mar 23, 2018

Rochester's Candidates Night will be held at 6 p.m. at the town's Senior Center on March 27.

The event was originally scheduled to begin an hour later, but was moved forward to prevent conflicts with a Rochester Planning Board meeting scheduled at the same time.

Candidates Night gives voters the opportunity to meet and question candidates before the April 11 election.

Voters will hear the candidates' views on shaping Rochester's future, as well as their takes on political, economic and social issues in town.

There are two candidates running for the selectman seat that longtime Selectman Naida Parker is leaving: Rochester's Emergency Management Director Paul Ciaburri, and Zoning Board of Appeals and Finance Committee member David Arancio. The only other contested race is for the Planning Board, where incumbents Ben Bailey and John DiMaggio are running to retain their Planning Board seats against opponents David Shaw and Bill Milka.
