Track teams win before conference match
The Old Rochester Regional High School boys and girls track teams will head to the Conference Championships next weekend bolstered by a pair of wins.
On Thursday, May 9, the Bulldogs defeated Fairhaven High School at home.
The ORR girls track team is undefeated with a season record of 8-0 following a win this week.
In the girls events, Ally Saccone won the long jump, triple jump, and 100 meter hurdles. Paige Santos won two events, the high jump and the 400-meter hurdles. The girls also won the 4 by 400 relay running the event in 4 minutes and 49 seconds. For the 4 by 100 relay the girls ran the event in 55.8 seconds for the win.
The boys track record is 5-3 following their win on the same day. Kevin Saccone won, the long jump, triple jump, and 100-meter hurdles events. Colin Knapton won the high jump and 100-meter, while Dan Donohue picked up a pair of wins in the discus and 200-meter events.
ORR will next compete in the Conference Championship, Wednesday May 15 at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School starting at 3:30 p.m.
