Twenty-five trees to be planted in Marion for Tree City 25th anniversary

Apr 15, 2022

MARION — The Marion Tree Committee will be planting 25 street trees in the next few weeks to celebrate Marion’s 25th year as a Tree City and to observe Earth Day, April 22, and Arbor Day, April 29.

Green watering bags will be visible around newly planted trees.

More than 40 donors have contributed to a new tree fund to sponsor the plantings. Donations can be sent to the Town of Marion Tree Fund, 2 Spring St., Marion.

The committee plans to continue tree planting for years to come.

Committee members will also be handing out seedlings for a tulip tree at the polls May 13 during town elections while supplies last.
