Upcoming events at the Elizabeth Taber Library

MARION — Throughout February, the Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion is celebrating Black History Month and has a number of programs to offer.

Visit all month long to find novels, histories, cook books, essays, graphic novels, picture books, crafts and more celebrating Black history and culture.

In honor of Black History Month, the Excellent family will celebrate at the Elizabeth Taber Library on Friday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. with stories, songs and art celebrating Black history and stories.

The second annual “Lizzy T” trivia night fundraiser will be held on Friday March 24 at 7 p.m. Gather a team of 5 t0 6 members and compete in a battle of wits to benefit the library. Topics include local history, sports, pop culture and more. Registration forms are available at the library or at www.elizabethtaberlibrary.org. There is a $200 team entry fee for trivia night.

Then on Thursday, March 2, the Friends of the Elizabeth Taber Library will hold a coffee hour at 9:30 a.m. where guests can learn more about the brand new Friends of the Elizabeth Taber Library at the group’s recruitment coffee hour and serve the community of Marion by supporting the library.

Finally, join the library for story times every Wednesday for a baby lap sit, and Friday for all ages. Storytime runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The library is located at 8 Spring Street, Marion. It is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
