Upcoming events at the Rochester Council on Aging

ROCHESTER — The Council on Aging has announced several events for the month of October. For a full newsletter, visit the COA  at 67 Dexter Lane to pick up a newsletter or go online to www.rochestermaseniorcenter.com for more information. 

On Friday, Oct. 5, there is a day trip to the Veterans Museum and “Restored Panorama of Whaling Voyage” at the Kilburn Mill in New Bedford. Free admission and lunch will be nearby. The bus will leave the Council on Aging at 9 a.m. and return around 5 p.m.

On Monday, Oct. 15, there is a trip tot eh Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. Admission will be $23 and lunch will be at the museum. The bus will leave at 8 a.m. and return around 5 p.m.

On Oct. 5, the movie being shown is “Maudie” staring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke. It is a 2017 PG-13 drama and the showing is at 1:30 p.m.

The Rochester Senior Center are hosting their first Harvest Dance on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 7-11:30 p.m. The dance is at the Redmen Hall on Main Street in Wareham. Tickets are $15 and on sale now. Alcoholic drinks and other refreshments will be available. 

The Monday Morning Painters of the Rochester COA will hold an art show and sale on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Rochester Senior Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A portion of the sales will go to the Friends of the senior center. Please note that many of these events require participants to register in advance at the COA. For day trips, a $5 donation is requested to secure a spot in the van.
