Upcoming programs at the Plumb Library

Jan 2, 2019

ROCHESTER — The Joseph H. Plumb Memorial Library has announced several events for the month of January. For a full list of programs, visit the library at 17 Constitution Way or visit the website.

On Friday, Jan. 18, there will be a story time session with Amos the therapy greyhound at the library. From 2 to 3 p.m., children and a parent can bring a picture book from home to read to Amos after crafts.

This is a new program being tested in the month of January.  This session is geared to children not yet in school, or in half-day school. Another session will be held on Jan. 25 for children of all ages.

“Just the Facts” nonfiction book group will discuss “The Lost City of the Monkey God: A True Story” by Douglas J. Preson on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

This book recounts how the author and a team of scientists discovered a legendary sacred city, the Lost City of the Monkey God, hidden deep in the Honduran jungle.

On Thursday, Jan. 31, Cafe Parlez will discuss “Celine” by Peter Heller at 6:30 p.m.

As a missing-persons tracker who specializes in reuniting families to make amends for a loss in her own past, Celine searches for a presumed-dead photographer in Yellowstone only to be targeted by a shadowy figure who would keep the case unsolved.
