UPDATED: Fatal crash on Route 195 in Marion
A Ludlow man was killed Wednesday night after being hit by an oncoming car on Route 195, according to State Police.
The Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Edward Widor, 69, became disabled near Exit 20 and was partially in the travel lane without rear-facing lights on, police say. Two passengers were also in the car, which was headed west.
Investigations determined Widor was standing next to his car or sitting with his legs outside when a Subaru Forester struck the left side and left door of the Monte Carlo. Widor was pronounced dead at the scene by State Police. Police also say the area was extremely dark.
No charges are being filed against the driver of the Forester, an Acushnet man. Widor's passengers, a Ludlow woman and Sagamore woman, were transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham with minor injuries.
The accident continues to be investigated by State Police.
