U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary boating skills course begins Feb. 21
This U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will hold a boating skills and seamanship course beginning in February.
This is an intermediate class designed for both new boaters seeking boating skills and those advancing to a higher level.
The course covers boating terminology, safety equipment, boat handling, trailering, aids to navigation, navigation rules, lines, knots, and radio communications.
A certificate is awarded upon completion. The course will be held at Lockheed Martin Sippican at 7 Barnabas Road in Marion. A fee of $40 for should be paid on the first night of class (Families may share materials).
The first class is on Thursday, February 21. Remaining classes will be on February 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28, and April 4. There will be a review and final exam on the last night (snow date included).
