The Mattapoisett Historical Museum and the Mattapoisett Library teamed up to get kids crafting for Valentine’s Day on Tuesday.
Before the crafts began, Elizabeth Hutchinson, the museum’s curator, read several Valentine’s stories with kids. Hutchinson then showed the kids Valentine’s cards from the early 1900s that are part of the museum’s collection.
Armed with historic and literary inspiration, the children got busy with glitter, heart-shaped stickers, and construction paper.
Chloe Guttenberger, 5, said she would give her card to the family’s dog.
“We’ve been replaced,” joked her mother Angela.
