Walter Florindo, 61
Walter J. Florindo, 61, of Wareham died Nov. 12 in Tobey Hospital, after injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was the son of Frances (Pierce) Florindo and the late Edmund P. Florindo, Sr.
He was born in Wareham and lived there all of his life. He graduated from Upper Cape Cod Regional Vocational High
Mr. Florindo worked as a heavy equipment operator for Byrne Sand and Gravel for many years. He was also a Captain on the Wareham Fire Department which he served on for 45 years.
He was a motorcycle and model train enthusiast.
Survivors include his fiancé, Barbara Pierce of Wareham; his mother, Frances (Pierce) Florindo of West Wareham; a son, Dean P. Florindo of New Bedford; a daughter, Carrie-Ann Russell of New Bedford; two step daughters, Tabitha Pierce of Onset and Yvette Vieira of New York; a stepson, James Pierce of Marion; his brothers and sisters, Sandra E. Vary, Edmund P. Florindo, Jr., Gary F. Florindo, Debra M. Rusinoski and Allen W. Florindo all of West Wareham; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Rochester.
