MATTAPOISETT — The early bird catches the return in Mattapoisett Land Trust’s upcoming ‘Welcome Back Bird Walk.’

The land trust and the Nasketucket Bird Club will host an all levels bird walk on Saturday, April 12 at 8 a.m. where Mike Labossiere, a member of the Nasketucket Bird Club, will lead the group through the woods and to the salt marsh to identify birds by sight and sound.

Participants will meet at the Brandt Island Cove District North, starting at the trailhead located at the intersection of Tara Road and Anchorage Way.

The rain or shine event is free and registration is not required. Attendees are encouraged to “dress appropriately for the outdoors” and bring binoculars.
