Winning weekend for Gladiator hockey

The Gladiator Squirts closed out the regular season over the weekend, beating Plymouth 8-1. The squirts fell behind 1-0 early on, but Brayden Hathon scored to help the team find its offensive footing.

Patrick Tripp scored the go-ahead goal to gain a lead the Gladiators would not relinquish. Other goals were added by Ben Hebbel and Thomas Carrico in the first period. In the second, Brayden Cannon, Patrick Duggan and Hebbel scored, and Cannon scored again in the third to bring the final score to 8-1. Goalie Ryan Killion stopped 11 out of 12 shots.

The Pee Wees also had a winning weekend, beating Norwood 5-0 on Sunday. Ty Reberio put Gateway on the board first, with Matthew Stone scoring soon after. Reberio scored a second time before the first period was up.

In the second period Reberio finished what he started, getting a third goal to earn a hat trick. Matthew Paling scored a goal in the third period, earning the 5-0 win.
