Rochester receives $45,000 for potholes

Apr 15, 2014

To meet a five-day deadline, Town Administrator Rich LaCamera submitted paperwork that secured $45,000 from the state to repair potholes.

LaCamera made the announcement at the Selectmen’s Monday night meeting.

“The roads took a beating this winter, so I’m sure the money will be well used,” Chair Naida Parker said.

LaCamera said the money was part of a $30 million allocation made to cities and towns across Massachusetts. After the state made the announcement, town officials had just under a week’s worth of time to submit the paperwork. And there’s another deadline looming – all work must be done by June 30 of this year.

Despite the time constraints, LaCamera said the money is welcome.

“This is a good thing,” he said.
