Selectmen issue parking request for snowstorms

Feb 10, 2016

The town is still waiting on approval from the Attorney General for permission to implement parking bans during snowstorms. Until then, Selectmen asked that residents park on one side of the road, the side without fire hydrants, if there is another plowable snow. The request is particularly important for the narrow streets in the Village.

With cars on one side of the road, plows can clear much easier, and it will cost the town less as a separate loader will not be required to navigate the snow piles, said Town Administrator Mike Gagne. It will also be easier to remove snow on fire hydrants, improving public safety.
