Barbara L. Ramsay, 84, of West Wareham, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at her home after a long illness.

Born in Braintree, she was the daughter of the late Albert R and Ambellina (Govoni) Hagen. A registered nurse, Mrs. Ramsay worked at Tobey Hospital in Wareham for 31 years.

She was a longtime faithful communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick’s Church. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.

Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Whitcomb of Windemere, FL, Jean Spink of W. Wareham, Thomas W. Ramsay, Jr. of Monticello, ME, James Ramsay of Rochester and Stephen Ramsay of Cypress, TX; her brothers, Albert Hagen of Hooksett, NH and John Hagen of Attleboro.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
