Jillian Zucco salutes Massachusetts history
Mattapoisett native and current Miss Massachusetts Jillian Zucco showed off her love for her home state's history at the Miss America parade on Saturday.
The parade provides an opportunity for contestants to show off their shoes, inspired by the state they hail from.
"My parade costume was inspired by Henry Longfellow's poem, called 'Paul Revere's Ride,' which includes the famous line, 'One, if by land, and two, if by sea,'" Zucco wrote on her Facebook page, "Miss Massachusetts Jillian Zucco."
Zucco wore a colonial inspired outfit, with stiletto heels decked out in red, white and blue, the North Church, Paul Revere on his horse and of course a big, bedazzled, colonial shoe buckle.
Zucco will compete tonight at 9 p.m. for the Miss America title on ABC.
