The Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School girls basketball team dominated Bristol Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical High School 42-22 on Thursday night.

The win improved Old Colony’s record to 4-1.

The Cougars had a 10 point lead at the half, and managed to double that by the end of the game.

“As the game progressed we played hard without playing fast,” head coach Craig Lincoln said. “We were making the extra pass and our looks became a lot better. It eased our tension.”

With senior captain Abigail Cioper out with an injury, Lincoln said other players have been stepping up in her absence.

“Everyone’s picking up new roles,” he said. “It’s been fun, but there have been growing pains.”

The team is now looking forward to its first league game, on Friday, Jan. 5 versus Norfolk County Agricultural, the team with which the Cougars shared the league championship last year. The game will be held at Norfolk County Agricultural.

“It’s a big game, a big rivalry with them,” Lincoln said. “I let our girls know it’ll be an intense game.”
