Fog, rain moves in as state warns of 'flash freezing'
Jan 12, 2018
The South Coast is under a weather warning from the National Weather Service due to the potential for heavy rain, winds and freezing temperatures.
Heavy rain is expected to move into the tri-town Friday and Saturday, with totals between 1.5-3 inches expected. Winds gusts of 45-55 miles per hour could also develop, particularly on the South Coast.
As the heavy rains end, temperatures are expected to drop rapidly and will be below freezing by Saturday afternoon, potentially resulting in flash-freezing. There could also be localized dense fog and a risk of flooding.
For more information, Marion has posted the full weather warning on the town website, MarionMA.gov.
