Students let loose at first ever Winterfest

Inflatable sumo suits, face painting, a dance party, a hot cocoa bar – Old Rochester Regional Junior High School showed off in a big way on Friday night.

The first annual Winterfest was held at the school. Students in the Old Rochester district in grades 6-8 were invited to the junior high school for a night of fun to introduce future students to the building and their classmates in a fun way.

"It's my first time inside the building," Angela Tomasso said. "It makes me more excited to come here."

That seemed to be the consensus as students hopped from station to station.

"It's fun to hang out with your friends," Chloe Bean said while taking a break from dancing.

While this was the first year of the event, it was a big hit among students, parents and teachers alike.

"It's a great event," teacher Megan Bodeau said. "The kids are loving it."
