After-school students at Marion's Natural History Museum learned how to tell animals apart by their tracks on May 2, with the help of Jennifer Carlino.

Carlino, the Conservation Agent for the Town of Norton, travels throughout the state to show school-aged children how to differentiate animal tracks and analyze their gaits.

"The kids practiced how to move like different animals," said Natural History Museum Director Elizabeth Leidhold. "The bounding of a fisher cat and the hopping of a snow hare were definitely the hardest!"

The after-school group's next outing will on Wednesday, May 9, when the children will sail to Bird Island with Harbormaster Isaac Perry. On the island, they'll study rare birds that call the island home.
