Michigan man killed in Rochester car accident

A Michigan man was killed in a one-car accident in Rochester on May 5.

According to the Rochester Police Department, Rochester Police received an emergency call at 10:30 p.m., reporting that a Jeep had overturned near a sand pit located at 259 New Bedford Road. The caller also reported that a man was pinned beneath the vehicle.

Officers arrived and found several parties attempting to upright the vehicle, which was owned by Leigh Savery, 30, of North Dartmouth. The victim, Rayce Darby, 23, of Flint, Michigan, was trapped beneath the vehicle. He was declared deceased at the scene.

No charges have been filed at this time. Rochester Police are continuing to investigate the crash with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police, Environmental Police, and the Coroner's Office.
