Mindy LaBranche will host a guided hike for families on Sunday, June 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Church's Field on Mattapoisett Road in Rochester.

The event is the first of the Plumb Memorial Library's outdoor Summer Library Program Challenge. LaBranche is a Rochester resident and professor of biological sciences at Bridgewater State University.

Learn about wildflowers, trees, birds, and more. Bring a journal to draw what you see. Colored pencils will be provided. Wear appropriate outdoor attire and protection against insects.
