The final leg of the reconstruction of lower Pearl Street will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, according to Mattapoisett Highway Dept. The work will include excavation for drainage, removal and replacement of curbing, and sidewalks and repaving of the street.

The reconstruction project is expected to take about five weeks. Work crews will be active beginning at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday until the project is completed. No work will take place on weekends. Travel will be restricted during working hours.

During construction there will be no parking along the road. Residents are required to remove on-street parked vehicles by 7 a.m.   At the end of each work day, travel and parking will be open until 7  a.m. the next working day.
