Tabor Academy announces new Headmaster
Tabor Academy has announced a new Headmaster to succeed Jay Stroud after 22 years with the school.
John H. Quirk Jr., Associate Head for School Affairs at Brooks School in North Andover, will step into his new position effective July 2012.
During his 25 years at Brooks School, Quirk has also served as the Dean of Students and Afternoon Programs, Co-Dean of Students, Coordinator of School Exchange Programs and as an instructor in both Latin and Greek.
The decision was made as a result of an 11-member search committee including current board members and faculty. The committee was assisted by independent school consultants Carney Sandoe & Associates, as well as faculty, students, administrators, parents and alumni support groups.
Quirk, along with his wife Casey and daughters Maggie, 11, and Emma, 10, will be moving to Tabor this summer in preparation for his new job. Quirk’s will assume the title of the new Head of School effective July 1.
