One new contestant in Marion town election
MARION — Over the last month, one new candidate has pulled papers for three positions in the upcoming town election on May 15.
Joseph P. Zora, Jr. took out papers to run for Selectman, Assessor and Planning Board, but has not yet returned his papers.
Zora will be running against incumbent Selectman Norm Hills, incumbent Assessor Patricia DeCosta and incumbent Planning Board members Eileen Marum and Christopher Collins.
Hills, Patricia DeCosta, Board of Health member Dorothy Brown and Marum all returned their papers in February.
Moderator Brad Gordon, Brown and Open Space Acquisition Commission members Amanda Chace and Jeffrey Oakes have no opponents in their races.
At this time, there are no candidates on the ballot for the Marion School Committee, ORR School Committee or Tree Warden.
Christine Marcolini will take out papers to run in the elections for Upper Cape Tech School Committee, but that race is not until November.
