Triple-threat athletes make strides, laps at Cranberry Trifest

LAKEVILLE — Athletes swam, ran and biked through portions Lakeville, Middleboro, Rochester and Freetown Sunday, Aug. 20 for the 22nd annual Cranberry Trifest.

The event began and ended at Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville. 

The 21-mile bike course began in Lakeville, continued into Middleboro, Rochester and Freetown before returning to the finish line in Lakeville.

The swim covers a quarter mile in Loon Pond in Lakeville. Swimmers made a counterclockwise loop that was marked with buoys and was supported by lifeguards in kayaks and in the water.

The 3.1-mile run took runners through neighborhoods around the Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville.

Top finishers were: Adler Brininger, 22 of Huntsville, Ala., with a time of 1:17:15.

The next finishers in the top five were: William Colgan, 27, of Cambridge, 1:19:24; Cooper Klein, 21, of Seattle, 1:20:04; Nolan Pearce, 23, of Brookline, 1:20:13; and Kyle Thetonia, 41, of Lakeville, 1:21:56.
