New principal chosen for Rochester Memorial School
After several months of searching, Old Rochester Regional School District Superintendent Doug White announced Wednesday that Dr. Moira Rodgers has been hired as the new principal of Rochester Memorial School.
Rodgers, who begins her appointment on August 1, is leaving a position with Falmouth Public Schools where she served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for pre-kindergarten to grade six.
The new principal's resume also includes time teaching grades four and six and a position with the Massachusetts Department of Education. Rodger's received her Master of Education degree from Boston College in 1994 and received her Doctorate in education from Northeastern University in January of this year.
Rodgers will take over for Jay Ryan, who served as Rochester Memorial's principal for 14 years and announced his retirement in December 2011.
