St Philip’s Episcopal Church announces summer schedule
MATTAPOISETT — St Philip’s Episcopal Church begins its 140th season this summer.
Next to the town beach in Mattapoisett, the church since 1884 has hosted visiting clergy weekly through the summer.
All are welcome to attend the 8 and 10 a.m. services.
The schedule for visiting clergy begins June 30 with Rev. Robert Malm, interim rector of St. Peter’s on the Canal in Buzzards Bay. July 7 will follow with Rev. Benjamin Strayley, rector of St. Stephen’s Church in Providence.
The schedule continues July 14 with Rev. William Locke, assisting priest of St. Stephen’s Church in Providence, then Rev. Nathan Humphrey of St. Thomas’s Church in Toronto on July 21.
That follows with Rev. Marc Eames, priest-in-charge of St. John’s Church in Vernon, Connecticut on July 28, then Malm on Aug. 4 and Strayley on Aug. 11.
The summer schedule continues with Rev. Jeffrey Paull Cave, retired diocese of Atlanta, on Aug. 25 and Sept. 1, the latter of which is also a hymn sing evening.
