Updated: Statewide 911 service restored in Tri-Town
The Massachusetts 911 system has been restored, according to state police.
The 911 system across Massachusetts experienced outages Tuesday, June 18.
According to the Marion Police Department, 911 service in Marion was not working. Residents were asked to call the business line at 508-748-1212 in case of emergency.
In Rochester, problems with the dispatch system were “intermittent,” according to the police department. Residents were asked to call 508-763-5112 to reach the Rochester Police Department while 911 services were down.
The Mattapoisett Police Department said the statewide outage was not affecting Mattapoisett. The department’s business line is 508-758-4141.
“The State 911 Department is aware of a disruption to the 911 system and is investigating the cause,” according to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. “If you are experiencing an emergency, please use the direct line for your local police department.”
Those looking to contact the Massachusetts State Police were asked to call the South Coast regional dispatch at 508-397-3192 during the outage, according to the department.
