Search for new Rochester Town Administrator nears completion
ROCHESTER — The search for a new town administrator in Rochester is nearing a conclusion.
The number of candidates for the position, which has been open since May 13, has been narrowed down to three by the Town Administrator Search Committee.
“The search committee has finished interviewing candidates and have decided to move three forward to the Select Board for interviews,” said Interim Town Administrator Suzanne Szyndlar.
Szyndlar said she is hoping to set up a Select Board meeting “next week” for the final interviews, conducted by the Select Board, to take place.
The next step for the Rochester Select Board is to write up some questions to ask the candidates. The list of questions will be sent to Town Counsel for review before the interviews take place.
According to Szyndlar, the work of the Town Administrator Search Committee is now done.
The committee was made up of Szyndlar, Select Board member Brad Morse, former Rochester Town Clerk Paul Dawson, Finance Committee member Kris Stoltenberg and Rochester resident David Eckert.
The previous Rochester Town Administrator, Glenn Cannon, resigned on May 13 to become Carver Town Administrator.
Cannon had served as the Town Administrator since March of 2022.
Szyndlar was announced as the Interim Town Administrator at a Select Board meeting on Apr. 29 when Cannon announced he would be resigning.
