Exhibit of ‘realism with a sprinkling of abstract’ coming to Mattapoisett
MATTAPOISETT — A new art exhibit is coming to the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.
“SouthCoast Landmarks and Whimsy” by Fall River artist MJ Manville will be on display from Tuesday, Oct. 1 to Monday, Oct. 30.
The library’s description of the exhibit notes that Manville works “in realism with a sprinkling of abstract and enjoys playing with color using traditional mediums such as soft oil pastel, acrylic, and watercolor. . . . Her credo is ‘unique, original, affordable’ which allows all people to afford original artwork.”
Manville last year created all the original artwork BayCoast Bank’s 2024 calendar. The 16 pieces depicted South Coast landmarks and is a a resident artist at the Viva Fall River Visitor Center and Shop in downtown Fall River.
