DARTMOUTH — The South Coast Bikeway Alliance is hosting its 11th annual summit on Tuesday, May 13. Guest will have the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in the South Coast Bikeway project.
Hosted at UMass Dartmouth’s School for Marine Science & Technology, the summit runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 836 South Rodney French Boulevard. Guests are encouraged to arrive when the doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The summit brings together representatives from communities spanning Swansea to Wareham to provide updates on the regional bike path project, share progress and discuss ways the public can get involved in pushing the bikeway closer to completion.
Keynote speaker Trish Karter, who is a record-holding cyclist, entrepreneur and Ride Across America team member, will headline the evening. Karter will highlight her “Aging Strong” initiative, which encourages older adults and women to stay engaged with cycling and helps make the sport more accessible to all.
For those looking to arrive on two wheels, group rides are being organized from South Dartmouth and Fairhaven.
