MATTAPOISETT — Join the Mattapoisett Friends Meeting to celebrate the wedding of Joseph Liburne Hiller and Florence Louise Crowell, which took place on May 28, 117 years ago.

There will be a silent, unprogrammed meeting for worship from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by an explanation of Quaker weddings, the tradition of Friends’ wedding certificates and the Hiller family.

Florence Martoccie of Mattapoisett donated her grandparents’ Quaker wedding certificate, which will be mounted on a wall in the meeting house, and light refreshments will be served.

The celebration will take place on Sunday, June 1 at the Mattapoisett Friends Meeting house at 103 Marion Road.
