MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Free Public Library will display paintings and prints by Sandwich artist Jim Parker from Tuesday, July 1 to Thursday, July 31 in a free exhibition titled “Ships and Shipbuilding from Mattapoisett and the Southcoast.”

Sailing ships, barks, brigs and schooners built in towns such as Mattapoisett, Marion, Fairhaven and Somerset are portrayed in Parker’s art.

He has produced over 500 historic paintings of areas in the U.S., including Cape Code and the Islands.
