MARION — Get in the groove as the Buzzards Bay Musicfest Swing Band traces the history of jazz.

The band will explore the different streams of jazz as they develop into divergent and independent streams.

Since 2017, the Swing Band has delighted audiences with jazz from different eras, genres, styles and origins, interpreting the American art form that isn’t only historically significant but deeply rooted in the souls of those who appreciate good music.

The Swing Band consists of nine musicians, including a veteran of the Tony Bennett Band, the former drummer of the Artie Shaw Band and the former piano accompanist for Sheila Jordan.

Hear the band play on Friday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held at the Fireman Performing Arts Center at 245 Front Street and admission is free.
