Gregg Alan Franklin, 57
With deep sadness and abiding love, we announce the passing of Gregg Alan Franklin, formerly of Wareham, who departed this life on July 22, 2025, at the age of 57. Gregg was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend whose faith, warmth, and joy left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Born on September 12, 1967, Gregg was the beloved son of the late Gilbert and Alice Franklin. He grew up in a large and loving family where bonds were strong and memories abundant. He was predeceased by his brother Gordon Franklin, whom he deeply loved and missed.
Gregg is survived by his cherished wife, Diane Smith-Franklin, of Silver Springs, Florida. Together, they built a beautiful blended family filled with love, laughter, and faith. He was the proud father of Krista Franklin and Jessica Gagne, and the devoted stepfather to Danielle Nice, Amber Nice, Jordan Smith, and Ashley Gaul.
He was a loving and proud grandfather to Aidan, Isaiah, Jamari, Kylei, Aria, Ellis, and Addison, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Gregg is also survived by a large extended family, including numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will remember him with deep affection. Gregg is also survived by his seven siblings: Paula Kathleen (Franklin) Frye of Wollaston, MA., Gilbert Franklin of Marion, MA., Karen (Franklin) Nixon of Cape Coral, FL., Gary Franklin of East Hampton, CT., Kendall (Franklin) Burgess of Cheyenne, WY., Kristina (Franklin) Beckham of South Beloit, IL., and Glen Franklin of Shutesbury, MA.
Gregg was a man of deep faith and integrity. He found purpose and joy in church, bible study, and spiritual fellowship, always eager to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His devotion to God and his family was the foundation of his life.
Outside of his faith, Gregg lived life fully. He enjoyed golf, cheering on his favorite football teams, shelling, taking cruises, riding motorcycles, and relaxing at the beach. Most of all, he cherished quality time with his family, which was his greatest joy and proudest achievement.
