WITH VIDEO: Project Grow preschoolers rock out to holiday classics

The preschoolers of Marion’s Project Grow class are spreading yuletide cheer – albeit with a touch of rock and roll.

On Tuesday, the kids ages three and four hosted a holiday show at the Sippican School for families and friends.

They sang along to holiday classics such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” broke out in dance when the mood struck them, and even rocked out with paper guitars.

All in all, it was a great show, said Project Grow teacher Barbara Moody.

“It’s been a great tradition for the past five years now,” Moody said. “Everybody was just into it.”

The kids even put their two cents in when time came to choose the songs they would use for the show.

With the preschoolers calling the shots, holiday favorites were intermixed with old stand-bys such as “The Wheels on the Bus.” Although, the students did request that the song name and refrain be adjusted to “The Wheels on the Gingerbread Bus.”

Of the kids’ talent, Moody said, “Yeah, they’re good.”
