Save the Date for Lloyd Center’s Music in the Woods! - Oct. 7

Join us at the Lloyd Center for the Environment on Saturday, October 7th, for the third Music in the Woods event, a free benefit for Lloyd Center members.

Both Lloyd Center members and the general public are invited to enjoy a musical afternoon on the Center’s trails and grounds of the Lloyd Center with musicians from the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra (musicians and themes to be announced), Spindle River Rats (an eclectic blend of bluegrass, old-time folk, popular, western, and fiddle tunes), Gropina recorder quintet (renaissance music with instruments that are replicas of period recorders ranging from soprano to C bass), and other musical performers to be announced.

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, Lloyd Center members may reserve their free tickets for Saturday, October 7 (rain date October 8), and choose their preferred event time 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. As a Lloyd Center member, you (and your guests) can attend for free. Your registration covers one car. You and your guests must all be in that one car.

Non-member registration begins on Tuesday, September 12; non-members may reserve their tickets for Saturday, October 7 (rain date October 8), and choose their preferred event time 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Registration covers one car. You and your guests must all be in that one car. Tickets are available for purchase by non-members for $50 per carload (comes with a free family membership).

Enjoy lunch or a snack from the Oxford Creamery’s Food Truck – the Oxcart, while you’re at Music in the Woods! The Oxcart will be available with their award-winning lobster rolls, burgers (including veggie), grilled cheese, mixed greens side salads and more, to purchase from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (cash only).

While at the Center, take a tour of our Living Building Challenge™ Welcome Center! Learn about the unique, innovative components of the 105% energy rejuvenating Welcome Center, the preliminary construction and plans for the main building, the campus upgrades, and the new

Teaching Pavilion. This will also be an opportunity to ask questions that surround our projects.

Please Note: If you are unable to access the hiking trails, we will have musical entertainment at the Bond House which is handicap accessible. Participation in the event is at your own risk. Please be prepared to protect yourself from the sun, ticks, and poison ivy. A limited number of long sleeve Lloyd Center shirts will be available for purchase.
