‘Absolutely new’: Rochester resident brings 1968 truck to car show

WAREHAM — With only 800 miles on it, Rochester resident Evan Bumpus’ 1968 Chevy pickup truck is one of a kind — and on July 12, he showed it off at the Elks Lodge in Wareham.

Bumpus brought his fully customized truck to the Lodge for the annual Car & Motorcycle Show, which benefits Cleanup Agawam Mill Pond.

Recently redone and equipped with air conditioning and power windows, Bumpus called the truck “absolutely new” and “beautiful.”

Bumpus has been into classic cars since he was 16 and said he also has a Trevelle and a 1967 Nova.

“All my life I’ve been into custom cars and Corvettes,” he said.

Bumpus said he enjoys old cars more than newer ones because they’re a “better investment.”

"You can buy one today and sell it three years down the line and you didn't lose anything. And, you've got a bunch of enjoyment out of it,” he said.
