50-plus Job networking group holding formal sessions Oct. 2

MARION — A job networking group, for individuals age 50 and above, will hold informational sessions over the next few months. The group is designed to help a range of participants including those unemployed, underemployed, unhappily employed, returning to the workforce, or retired individuals.
The program focuses on aiding participants look for part-time or full-time employment, free of charge.
Individual sessions focus on topics including assessing skills, developing a job search plan, revising resumes, creating a LinkedIn, interviewing, networking, and more. The sessions offer resources to speed up the job search and information about age discrimination in the job search process.
The formal sessions will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and participants should arrive around 12:30 p.m. for check-in.
The program is funded by the Massachusetts executive Office of Elder Affairs and managed by the Massachusetts Councils on Aging in partnership with the Acushnet and Marion Councils on Aging.
Meetings will be held in Marion on the first Tuesday of each month and the third Tuesday in Acushnet. The Marion meetings will take place at 465 Mill St. and 59 1/2 South Main St. in Acushnet.
