AARP Massachusetts recognizes Rochester’s Ann Cambra
Ann Cambra has been selected by AARP to receive the 2015 AARP Massachusetts Andrus Award for Community Service.
The award will be presented to Cambra at a ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rochester Senior Center, 67 Dexter Lane, Rochester. As part of her award, Cambra will receive a $1,500 donation to the charity of her choice, Mission to Liberia.
“This award acts as a symbol to the public that we can all work together for positive social change,” said Mike Festa, AARP Massachusetts state director. “AARP has long valued the spirit of volunteerism and the important contributions volunteers make to their communities, neighbors, and the programs they serve.”
Recipients across the nation were chosen by each AARP state office for their ability to enhance the lives of AARP members and prospective members, improve the community in or for which the work was performed, and inspire others to volunteer.
