MATTAPOISETT — During a Select Board meeting on Tuesday, July 29, board members discussed placing No Parking signs along the west side of Reservation Road.

The discussion came about after a resident spoke with Town Administrator Michael Lorenco about parking availability along the street, which Lorenco said is “very narrow.”

Along Reservation Road are the Reservation Golf and Beach Club, the YMCA and a new home that’s being built, all of which complicates parking for current residents.

“There’s a lot of traffic in and out of there and it’s off of Route 6,” Lorenco said.

As an alternative to no parking signs, Board members considered parking restrictions, such as enforcing a parking ban between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the west side of the street.

Before the Board considers any signage for the street, the resident Lorenco spoke with will need to write an opinion on why the signs should be placed and a safety officer will need to weigh in.
