Alcohol license approved for Mattapoisett Diner

Aug 13, 2019

MATTAPOISETT — Brian Vose, owner of Pandolfi’s Mattapoisett Diner was approved for an All Alcohol On-Premise License by the Mattapoisett Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The license is pending on the approval of the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, and will expire on Dec. 31 2019.

Vose appeared in front of the board on July 9 requesting an Entertainment License, as well as the one for alcohol. Selectmen Paul Silva and Jordan Collyer approved the Entertainment License, but disagreed on the alcohol license. Collyer was in favor of the license, but Silva was not convinced that the diner really needed the all alcohol  license. Silva said he would be more supportive of a beer and wine license. Selectman R. Tyler Macallister was not present to break the tie.

On Aug. 13 Macallister decided in favor of the license because he wanted to give the new business owner as many tools as possible to succeed.

Vose helped reopen the diner in May, and said that he would like to expand its hours to stay open three or four nights per week instead of just one. He said that he has considered paint nights with margaritas as one way to draw more crowds to his business. He assured the board on July 9 that he does not intend to give the diner a “bar atmosphere”, but just wants to give customers some new options, and expand upon what the diner already has.
