Sep 1, 2021

Alix Kyle Solomon, 65, of Talent Oregon, died suddenly on September 9, 2020. Alix grew up in Marion and attended Sippican School and Old Rochester Regional Schools, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

After living in Virginia for 12 years she and her family moved to Orinda CA. While in CA., Alix coached the boys’ and girls’ Miramonte High School tennis teams, co-managed the Lafayette Tennis Club and was on the board of the Sleepy Hollow Tennis Club. She won many USTA matches for both clubs.

Alix was also a skilled sailor, an avid reader, an excellent cook, and a creative quiltmaker. She valued nature and camping with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and was often the life of the party.

Alix will be remembered by all who knew her for her warm manner and exuberant laugh. Her care, love and generosity will be missed by the many who loved her, none more than her daughter, Sasha Miyamoto and her husband Matt Miyamoto and their two sons, Malcolm and Jared (Carlisle, MA); her daughter, Ayla Solomon (Carlisle MA); her son, Zack Solomon (Denver Colorado); and her former husband, David Solomon (San Francisco, CA); as well as her five siblings, Scott Kyle (Cambridge MA); Cameron Kyle (Talent OR); Peter Kyle (Providence RI); Toby Kyle DeWalt (Appleton, ME); and Adam Kyle (Fairhaven, MA); and her 10 nieces and nephews. Alix was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend.
