Alumni association to hold homecoming weekend events

The Bulldog Pride Alumni Association will kick off its inaugural activities on Friday, Oct. 20 during half-time at the Old Rochester Regional High School homecoming football game.

The launch of Old Rochester’s first-ever alumni association will coincide with a full program of Alumni Weekend events open to all alumni and friends of the Old Rochester Regional School District from Friday, Oct. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 22.

Homecoming 2023 and Alumni Weekend is an opportunity for graduates of Old Rochester Regional Junior and High School to reconvene in support of the district and to establish an outlet for alumni and friends to volunteer and contribute in service to students, teachers, and staff, according to a press release from the Bulldog Pride Alumni Association.

The Alumni Weekend program of events is as follows:

On Friday, Oct. 20, the Old Rochester Regional High School football game will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, there will be an alumni gala reception at the Reservation Golf Club in Mattapoisett at 6 p.m.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 22, the Brew Fish Bar and Eatery in Marion will host a “Bulldog Brunch” at 12 p.m.

Join alumni for a special brunch at this Marion restaurant. Alumni will have a dedicated room and a cash bar.

According to the press release, all proceeds and contributions from the events will go directly to the Bulldog Pride Alumni Association’s endowment fund. The association has committed to funding the Bulldog Pride Award, an annual scholarship given to a graduating Old Rochester Regional High School senior, for the period of 2024-2029.

The award, founded in 2019, is the first alumni-sponsored scholarship at the high school, according to the press releases. It was started by the Class of 1988 and has been awarded each year between 2019-2023.
