April upcoming events for the Rochester Council on Aging

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Council on Aging will host a variety of meals, celebrations and workshops throughout April. 

On Monday, April 1st 11:30 a.m., enjoy a Pampered Chef demo, followed by lunch. Sign up and pay a $5 donation in advance.

On Wednesday, April 3 at 9 a.m., start off the day by going to the Council on Aging Board meeting.

Also on April 3, people can book an appointment to help with tax preparation. There is no charge for this service and it is available from low to moderate income individuals with special attention to those over 60. It is not required that residents live in Rochester

Get free legal consultations with Attorney Matt Beaulieu Thursday, April 4th at 3 p.m. Appointments are recommended for this very popular free service. Later, from 6 to 8 p.m., attend the Veteran’s Social. All veterans of any age are welcomed to this informal social gathering and refreshments will be served.

On Friday, April 5th at 1:30 p.m. come and celebrate the Council on Aging’s recent re-accreditation. Just let them know in advance. Refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, April 7th from 8 to 11 a.m., eat breakfast with the Easter Bunny. All are welcome. Breakfast is made to order off of a reasonably priced menu. Photos with the bunny are available for $5.

Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 a.m. The menu is reasonably priced and diners get free breakfast on their birthday.

Special luncheons are on most Mondays for a $5 donation. Congregate lunches are served Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m for a $5 donation.

The Council on Aging provides free transportation for Rochester residents. Please call for a ride with one of their friendly drivers at least 24 hours in advance so they can schedule a driver.

Medical transportation to Boston or Providence is available for $5 via a Coastline Services grant. Call 508-992-5978 at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule a medical visit.
