Art Center to host two exhibitions at once

Feb 21, 2019

The Marion Arts Center will open two exhibits simultaneously with an opening reception on March 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The upper gallery will feature Students of Sippican, with works by students in Kindergarten through grade 6 at Sippican Elementary. The exhibit will also include art books on loan from the Elizabeth Taber Library.  This collaboration is arranged in conjunction with Children’s Librarian, Rosemary Grey and Sippican art teacher, Erin Kirk.

The MAC’s lower gallery will showcase Menagerie, by four artists who often depict animals in their work: Jane Bregoli, Stephanie Bush, Heide Hallemeier, and Nancy Whitin.

These artists capture the anthropomorphic characteristics of, or unique relationships between, cows, donkeys, goats, dogs, and other beloved creatures.

Menagerie will also feature a small selection of hand-printed goods by Shara Porter available for sale.

The exhibitions run through Saturday, April 6.
