Jun 10, 2016
On June 28 the Sippican Historical Society will feature Mau VanDuren as part of the Sippican Historical Society Speakers Series. VanDuren, who immigrated to the United States from the Netherlands in 1982, is the author of “Many Heads and Many Hands: James Madison’s Search for a More Perfect Union.”
His book discusses the time the pilgrims spent in the Netherlands before leaving for what would become the United States. VanDuren will speak about the development of law and democracy in America and the people whose ideas shaped the drafters of the Constitution. The lecture is at the Marion Music Hall at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
