MATTAPOISETT — Providence-based author Julie Hatch will speak at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library on Tuesday, June 10 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Her first novel, “The Very Best of Care” is a medical thriller about a young mother who fights for her son’s survival after he is born premature. As she battles for her son’s life, she uncovers a web of conspiracies, corruption and corporate greed within the hospital that threatens her family.

Hatch drew from her experiences working in pediatric and neonatal intensive care for over 30 years.
